Setup guide

From nothing to a member verifying themselves, in about five minutes. Do these in order — each step depends on the one before it.

1

Create your account

Go to app.clubtier.com and choose Continue with Discord. Signing in with Discord is what lets ClubTier recognise you as the person who administers your server, so you never have to copy an invite code between Discord and your browser.

2

Connect your Discord server

Open Servers and choose Connect a server. Discord shows you its own server picker; pick the server you want and approve the permissions.

You need Manage Server permission on that server. ClubTier asks Discord whether you have it — being able to click "add to server" is not the same as being allowed to configure one.

ClubTier requests four permissions: View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links and Manage Roles. It does not ask to read your messages and cannot see the content of your conversations.

3

Put the ClubTier role above the roles it manages

In Discord, open Server Settings → Roles and drag ClubTier above any role you want it to hand out.

This is the single most common reason setup appears broken.

Discord refuses to let a bot assign a role at or above its own position in the list. If ClubTier sits below @Premium, verification will succeed and the role will silently fail to apply. Nothing on our side can override this — it is enforced by Discord.

4

Choose the roles ClubTier manages

On the server's page, pick the two roles ClubTier is responsible for: Free, given to anyone who verifies their email, and Premium, given only to members with an active subscription.

Only roles ClubTier can actually assign are offered. If a role you expect is missing, it is either above ClubTier in the list (see step 3) or it is a role Discord manages itself, such as a bot or booster role.

ClubTier only ever touches these two roles. Every other role in your server is left alone.

5

Set your verification questions

Email address is always asked and cannot be removed — it is what links a Discord account to a paying customer. Beyond that you can ask up to four more questions and map each one to a field on the contact record: first name, last name, phone, notes, or a custom field of your own.

The four-question limit is Discord's, not ours: a Discord form accepts five inputs and email takes one of them.

6

Connect your CRM

Open Integrations and connect your LeadConnector sub-account. This is what tells ClubTier who is actually subscribed. Access tokens are encrypted before they are stored.

Without this step members can still verify their email, but nobody will be granted the Premium role, because nothing yet says who is paying you.

7

Post the verification panel

In the Discord channel where new members should verify, run /panel. ClubTier posts a message with a Verify button that stays there permanently — members use the same message however long after joining.

Put it in a channel everyone can see before they are verified, such as #welcome or #verify.

What a member sees

They press Verify, type the email address they subscribed with, and answer whatever questions you configured. ClubTier emails them a six-digit code, they type it back, and their roles are applied. The whole thing takes about twenty seconds.

Codes are single use and expire after ten minutes. One email address can only ever claim one Discord account in a given server, so a subscription cannot be shared between accounts.

When something looks wrong

The role was not applied after verifying. Almost always role position — see step 3. Check Activity in the dashboard, which records every grant and every failure with a reason.

The member never received the code. Ask them to check spam, then to press Verify again — a new code invalidates the previous one. Codes expire after ten minutes.

"That email is already in use." The address is already linked to a different Discord account in this server. That is deliberate. Remove the existing member from Members if the person genuinely changed Discord accounts.

Verified, but no Premium role. ClubTier found no active subscription for that email in your CRM. Check the address on the contact record matches the one they verified with.

ClubTier appears offline in Discord. Roles are reconciled again as soon as it reconnects, so nothing is lost. If it stays offline, contact us.

Still stuck?

Email support@clubtier.com with your server name and roughly when the problem happened, and we can look it up in the activity log.
